Group, Party and Event Photography:

Taking photographs of people is actually easier than wildlife: you can communicate, and most people want to look nice, so cooperate, unlike your average butterfly!

My goal is to capture the mood and the best moments with posed and informal portraits of the people that will give pleasure now, and for many years to come. More in Photography

A client wrote saying “The images you took and I gave to my wife for Xmas she absolutely adores. We have put these up now and they look superb. Thanks for bringing these images to life!”

Norfolk Landscapes

This beautiful photography book captures the essence of Norfolk’s varied landscapes in sumptuous images and an informative text that gets underneath the surface of why things look like they do. The Norfolk Broads, Breckland, The Waveney Valley, The Fens and Norfolk’s coastline are explored in turn along with the wildlife you can encounter on the way. In addition, Norfolk’s lovely churches that punctuate every view, and the distinctive traditional buildings that give each area its special flavour are featured.

Doug specialises in landscape and wildlife photography, mostly encountered whilst walking or running in open countryside. His images are in demand for display in pubs and hotels, and also for the walls of private homes. He has an eye for beauty and balance, honed over 40 years of photography and informed by years of studies in biology and ecology. His mission is to take pictures that are published as they are, with the minimum of modification and no alteration. Doug is available for commissions to produce image files, prints or books on order. Otherwise existing images can be purchased on request. He uses a Panasonic Lumix G5 camera, which is very light to carry, but very powerful, with zoom lenses covering 14mm to 300mm.

Doug Kennedy has been publishing books since the 1980’s, starting with his own guitar tutors (now published by Cramer Music – see Junior Guitar under Books) and compositions then wrote and published books of music by Bert Jansch, Martin Carthy and Ralph McTell as well as several contemporary classical guitar composers.

Doug got into publishing photo books (An English Village Idyll and Chiltern Landscapes) because people loved his images and thought he could really do something with them. First friends, then shops were very impressed with pilot books he produced, so he has invested money and a great deal of time to produce and market these lovely editions. It is a gamble, as thousands of books are published each month it is hard to get noticed, but it is also a labour of love, so thoroughly worthwhile. This is especially the case as everyone who has seen the books so far has loved them.
