The web site is up!

With a lot of help from Przemek, a web developer in High Wycombe, I have got this site up and running. It is created using a ‘content management system’, which means that I can produce pages, blogs and so on with great ease within the structure provided. Seems to work well, but I’ll have to set aside a bit of time each week to keeping it up to date.

The content is in its early stages – lots to add, adapt and experiment with. I made the graphic on the front page from clip-art in the Microsoft collection – I like it, but what do you think? All suggestions (constructive) are welcome.

I intend this blog to be a vehicle for my rants and ideas, not that they’ll change the World or anything, and there’s a lot of it about. But people read the LEJOG one so perhaps they’ll read this too and respond.

Hello world!

it is June 16th 2009.

I have set up an initial version of this web site using some new technology, and am now working out how to use it. It is very sophisticated, and I’m told it’s a lot easier than creating web pages from scratch – I used to use Dreamweaver – but you need to understand the logic and the tricks. And there is quite a lot of reading to fit in as well if I’m going to do it properly. So it will take time.

I have returned from my 51-day walk (see links) to my lovely Lindsey and our home, and to a number of challenges of which this is one. I hope that it will merit the time spent, which will be judged by the benefit it brings you. And me.
