The Clyde at New Lanark
"In one of the worst droughts in British history the Tory Energy Secretary has just authorised consumption of over 20 bn litres of water by a new nuclear plant
A British person would have to turn off all their taps for 385,000 yrs to save that much water"

This is the River Ivel, a chalk stream, 1 of only 225 in the entire world. This is what @AffinityWater calls "protecting our local environment".
And the @EnvAgency does what exactly? https://twitter.com/anicolson/status/1557459088639918080
Thank you Ian and all of your team. The state to which the Ivel has been reduced is truly shocking. An abused and murdered river, one whose powerful flow from the chalk drove a sequence of corn mills for centuries. Now this, as a result of @AffinityWater draining the aquifer. https://twitter.com/Parrog3/status/1557420083676340225
